| The buttons down the left hand side of skybookGA™ disappear when I put my mouse over them. |
This will happen if your web browser is configured to never use cached files.
Open a new Internet Explorer window, and click the 'Tools' menu, followed by 'Internet Options'. In the window that appears, select the 'General' tab and then click 'Settings' in the section labelled 'Temporary Internet Files'. Change the option under 'Check for newer versions of stored pages' to 'Automatically' and make sure the disk space is set to more than zero (50MB is recommended).
The next time you view skybookGA™, the menu buttons should not disappear. |
| I sometimes find skybookGA™ hangs up and stops responding. |
The skybookGA™ website requires a constant connection to the Internet. If skybookGA™ seems to hang up and stop responding, it is often due to a temporary loss of connection.
Adobe Reader will occasionally try to download automatic updates. When this happens, Adobe Reader will display a window asking which updates you wish to install. Sometimes, this window appears behind instead of in front of the main skybookGA™ display.
If Adobe Reader is asking which updates to download when you print a Briefing Pack or try to view any PDF, skybookGA™ may appear to not respond. The problem is that Adobe Reader is waiting for you to close its automatic updates window, and will not respond until you do so. Hold down the left key, and press the key to check whether Adobe Reader is attempting to perform automatic updates. |
| I have difficulty viewing briefing information onscreen as PDF documents using Adobe Reader. |
The skybookGA™ website integrates with Adobe Reader to display briefing information. This allows you to output Weather, NOTAM, and other briefing information to a permanent copy as a PDF document. Adobe Reader can display a PDF document onscreen within the skybookGA™ website. You then also have the option to Save the document or to Print the document to a paper copy.
If Adobe Reader fails to correctly display PDF documents onscreen within the skybookGA™ website, or if you are experiencing any other difficulties with Adobe Reader, please click here. |
| When I log in skybookGA™ asks me to download Adobe Reader, but it is already installed on my computer. |
| Your browser is unable to detect the installation of Adobe Reader on your computer. We recommend that you uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader using your Control Panel, and then visit Adobe's website to re-install the Acrobat Reader. |
| I can't see all the skybookGA™ website, I am missing some of the presentation. Why is this? |
| skybookGA™ is designed to work with the computer screen resolution set to a minimum of 1024 x 768 pixels. If the resolution is set to a coarser level than this, e.g. 800 x 600 pixels, some of the skybookGA™ presentation will not be visible. If you don't know how to set your screen resolution, then click here. |
| When I try to log in, skybookGA™ tells me to change my pop-up blocker settings. Why is this? |
Some parts of the skybookGA™ website need to use pop-up windows to display information. These pop-up windows can occasionally be blocked by pop-up blocker software installed on your computer. Pop-up blockers may be included as part of your web browser, or installed as a plug-in toolbar such as Google Toolbar or Yahoo Toolbar, or may be separate software products such as a Norton Internet Security.
It is vital that pop-up blockers are configured to allow pop-up windows from the skybookGA™ website. If pop-up windows are blocked, many parts of the website will fail to display correctly. For more information on how to configure your pop-up blockers, please click here.
If you cannot configure your pop-up blocker software to allow pop-ups from this site, then when you try to log in there will be a link at the bottom of the pop-ups information page which will allow you to login without changing your pop-up blocker settings. |
